I know many of these are simple and have been said for decades before me and I am so grateful for the words of wisdom of ones before me, so here are 11 things that almost dying and waking up with brand new lungs has taught me:
- Know who your friends are. They can make or break you.
- Don’t take even a single second for granted. Or a single breath.
- Live in the now, it’s literally all you have for sure.
- Fight with all you’ve got! It’s all you’ve got.
- Live every moment as if it’s your last. It very well could be.
- Be fearless and don’t worry too much. Worry doesn’t change a thing!
- Don’t assume people understand your fight, they probably don’t and never will.
- Appreciate your senses: sight, hearing, taste, smell, touch. You never know when you might lose them.
- Be grateful for every little thing. Everything single little thing. Always.
- Say “I Love You” every chance you get and ALWAYS take a hug.
- Never, ever, take life too seriously. Nobody actually makes it out of here alive anyway.
